Husband tortures wife with acid

A Saudi husband threw acid on his wife’s face and chest while he continued to beat her up after having treatment at hospital, a newspaper said on Thursday.

The unnamed husband has systematically smacked his Arab wife and threatened her not to report him to the police or he will deport her family from the Gulf Kingdom, Kabar Arabic language daily said.

“Recently, he threw acid at my face and chest, causing second and third degree burns according to the hospital,” the paper quoted the unidentified wife as saying.

“He has been torturing me and beating me up for years, turning my life into hell although we have three children…I can not complain about him because he has threatened to deport my father and other family members.”

The paper said the woman was appealing for help to pay for treatment of her burns and to protect her from her husband.
