If you are offered a lift…don’t take it

An Iranian expatriate in Kuwait had thought lady luck was on his side when a black vehicle emerged out of nowhere in the dark and offered him a lift after his car broke down in deserted area. It was not too long before he realised it was not a polite offer but a robbery.

Just after he popped into that Ford car, its driver pulled a gun, aimed it at the Iranian and ordered him to empty his pockets.

“I got into that car and it moved for just 100 metres before it stopped…the driver pulled a gun out of his clothes and said ‘empty your pockets here and get out,” the unnamed Iranian told police.

Reporting the incident on Tuesday, 'Alanba' newspaper said police were looking for the Ford car after the Iranian gave them its descriptions and plate number. It did not identify the thief but quoted the Iranian as telling police he had a Kuwaiti accent.
