Illegal abortion clinic busted in Saudi
Saudi authorities raided a house in the country’s second largest city and arrested two African women for turning their home into an illegal abortion clinic.
Police said the woman and her helper, who are illegally staying in the Gulf Kingdom, have aborted many pregnant women in violation of laws which strictly prohibit such operations in line with Islamic law.
Police had used a woman of the same nationality to trap the two at their house in the western Red Sea port of Jeddah.
“They were charging SR3,000-5,000 for cases involving pregnancy of three to four months and SR10,000 for advanced pregnancy cases,” the Arabic language daily Sharq said.
