Joke about murder lands man in jail

A man who joked about committing a murder had clearly not realized the joke would cost him his freedom. When he told the Saudi police he was just joking, they replied they were not.

The unnamed African expatriate in the Gulf Kingdom just wanted to show off before his friends when he told them that he killed a man and buried his body in a village outside the central town of Madina.

“His friends told the police, who arrested him…he told the police he was only joking with his friends but the police told him he would remain in detention until investigation about the presumed corpse is completed,” Alwatan daily reported on Monday.
