Maid killed trying to escape Saudi employer
An Indonesian housemaid plunged to her death as she tried to climb down from the fourth floor with a rope in an attempt to flee her employers in Saudi Arabia, the Arabic language daily Almadina said on Wednesday.
The maid sneaked through the bathroom’s window and went up to the roof of the building in the central town of Makkah, the paper said.
“There, she found a rope…she dangled it down and used it to reach the ground…but she lost balance and plunged down,” it said.
“The maid lay on the ground for nearly 15 minutes before she died…she was found by residents who were leaving a mosque after prayers.”
The paper said police were investigating the reasons behind the maid’s attempt to flee her employer.
