A Saudi man is accusing a major hospital in the Gulf kingdom of stealing his spleen while drugged for medical check-up, a newspaper said on Sunday.

The unnamed man, in his 30s, had to stay at the hospital in Riyadh for a few days for examination before leaving with severe pains in his abdomen and waist, the Arabic language daily 'Alyoum' reported.

“He visited another hospital, where doctors told him his spleen had gone…the man went to the first hospital and accused it of stealing his spleen,” it said.

“He said he had stayed for a few days at that hospital and was drugged sometimes for examination…after he was discharged, he started to feel excruciating pains in the waist and abdomen.”

The paper said the man had appointed a lawyer to file a court suit against the hospital, which it described as a “big and well known hospital.”
