An old Bangladeshi man who suffered from a serious head injury in Saudi Arabia is lying at a relative’s house awaiting death after hospitals refused to treat him for lack of money, a newspaper in the oil-rich Gulf country said on Sunday.
The man had received first aid at a small government hospital outside the western Red Sea port of Jeddah just after the accident and was discharged for specialized treatment, Sabq said.
“He was transferred to a hospital in Jeddah but it refused to receive him because he could not afford costs of the treatment…all other hospitals also turned him away,” the paper said.
“The man has been in a coma for nearly two months…he is now lying at a relative’s low-cost little house awaiting death.”
