Man held for 'porn' blackmail

Saudi Islamic police arrested a 30-year-old man for blackmailing a university student into paying him money and sleeping with him, the online Saudi Arabic language daily Kabar reported on Friday.

Imitating a woman’s voice, the man phoned the student and asked him to send pictures of his naked body by e-mail, the paper said.

“When he did, the man phoned him again and told him that he is not a woman and that he must pay him SR5,000,” the paper said.

“The worried student paid the money but the man did not stop there…he asked the student to let him sleep with him or he would publicise his pictures.”

The paper said the student reported the man to the feared Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice in the southwestern province of Baha.

“Commission members asked the student to agree and meet him…the trap worked and they arrested the man, who confessed to his crime.”
