A Saudi court sentenced a local man to three years in prison and ordered him lashed 340 times after he was found guilty of forced seduction of a teen girl he knew through social networks, a newspaper reported on Wednesday.
Saudi Arabia’s religious police – the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice — arrested the 26-year-old man after the girl reported that he threatened to publish her photographs she had sent to him unless she agrees to sleep with him.
“Commission members told the girl to pretend that she agrees to his request and to date him. When he met her, they swooped on the man and arrested him,” Sabq Arabic language daily said in a report from eastern Saudi Arabia.
