Man kills ex-wife’s mum then commits suicide

An armed Saudi man killed his ex-wife’s mother and injured her two daughters before committing a suicide at their house in the Gulf Kingdom on Monday.

The man attacked the family of his ex-wife with a machine gun, killing his former mother in law and seriously injuring his ex-wife and her sister before ending his own life with a knife. The incident triggered a fire at the two-level house in the western Red Sea port of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia’s second largest city.

Police said they were investigating the incident after fire men managed in putting out the blaze.

Man held for offering body to “men and women”

Saudi Arabia’s feared Islamic police arrested an Arab man in the Gulf Kingdom for offering his body through social networks to both men and women.

Members of the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice sent an undercover cop to the man’s house after he offered to have sex with males and females and left his telephone number and address.

“An undercover male cop phoned the man and set a rendezvous at his house…once he was let in, Commission members raided the house and arrested the man,” Alsaudeh daily said in a report from the central town of Afif.

Asian killed under “heavy load”

An Asian was killed when a heavy load fell on him in Ras Al Khaimah, a newspaper reported on Tuesday.
Police said the 36-year-old man was seriously injured during the accident at Kadra industrial area on Sunday before dying later. They did not give other details.
