Abu Mishaal of Saudi Arabia can no longer leave his house or even reach the bathroom after gaining nearly 240 kg in just 25 years to become a human hulk weighing nearly 300 kg. What makes it worse for him is that he suffered from Elephantiasis in his leg nearly a year ago.

In a U-Tube film published in the Saudi daily Sabq, Abu Mishaal said he began gaining weight after he was discharged from hospital, where he had stayed for nearly two months after he was knocked over by a car 25 years ago.

At 51, he is now nearly 300 kg and spends most of his time lying on his massive wooden bed or sitting on the chair as he can no longer walk by himself.

“I can no longer walk…I even can not go to the bathroom…I get help from neighbours but I appeal for all benevolent people and the authorities to help me…I need treatment for my leg and my weight,” he said.

A resident of the capital Riyadh, Abu Mishaal was a solider in the national guard in the Gulf Kingdom before he had that accident. He said he could not understand why he put on weight or what caused his leg disease.

Elephantiasis is a disease that is characterized by the thickening of the skin and underlying tissues, especially in the legs and male genitals. In some cases the disease can cause certain body parts to swell to the size of a basketball.
