Man strangled to death by the fan of his car

A Saudi man died after he was suffocated by his own head turban which was sucked into the fan of his four-wheel car, a newspaper said on Sunday.

The man had started his car and decided to check the engine while it was parked near his house in the western town of Taif, Sabq said.

“As he bent down to check the engine and fan, his gutra (head turban) was caught and sucked inside the fan,” the paper said.

“He struggled to free himself but could not…the turban was so tight around his neck that he could not breathe and died of suffocation.”
