Man tries to commit suicide in mosque

A Saudi man tried to commit a suicide by hanging himself from a chandlery at a mosque but was saved in the last minute, a newspaper reported on Sunday.

Two doctors who happened to be passing past the mosque in the western Red Sea port of Jeddah saw the 50-year-old man tie his neck to the chandlery by a piece of cloth before jumping off a table, Okaz said.

“They rushed to him and got him down…he was taken to hospital for treatment,” the paper said, adding that he could be suffering from mental problems.
