Mentally challenged woman raped and murdered

A mentally challenged Nepali woman was allegedly raped and murdered in the northern Indian state of Haryana.

The woman, who was living with her sister, had been missing for three days

Police has sent the body for autopsy as the body had marks of multiple injuries.

The post mortem report confirmed the woman was raped and murdered. There were several injuries on her private parts and that stones and blades were also found in her dead body.

Police has announced a cash reward for any clue that could lead to the arrest of accused, officials said.

A special investigation team has activated its cyber cell to trace mobile phone users who were active near the crime spot in the past few days.

The state women’s commission has assured the woman’s family that it would demand the death penalty for the culprits.

The crime has dismayed the local Nepali community which is planning a candlelight vigil and protest.
