Movie-style car chase for Kuwaiti girl kidnap

Residents of Kuwaiti City were treated on Wednesday to a thrilling movie-style police chase of a car involved in the kidnapping of a local girl. The one-hour chase ended in the arrest of the kidnapper.

Police had to request a back up after one of their cars involved in the chase was damaged when it hit the pavement, 'Alqabas' daily reported on Thursday.

The police had deployed patrols and checkpoints through the capital to look for the kidnapper, who the paper said was a Kuwaiti military man.

“The car was spotted near a checkpoint and the girl was inside..…when the police tried to stop it, the kidnapper fled, triggering an exciting chase through the streets for nearly one hour,” the paper said.

“Police later succeeded in stopping the car and arresting the kidnapper, who said the girl agreed to come with him at her own will…but the girl denied this and told the police he kidnapped her near her house.”
