A 25-year-old woman and her three little children died after their house in Saudi Arabia was engulfed in fire while they were asleep at night, a newspaper said on Wednesday.

The mother and her son, 7, daughter, 5, and a one-year-old boy were asleep in their small room in the second floor of the house when the fire erupted, 'Sabq' Arabic language daily said in a report from the Eastern Ihsa province.

It quoted civil defence spokesman Colonel Mansour Al Dousari as saying other dwellers of the house were hurt and taken to the hospital.

“The mother and her children had lived in a tiny room which was used as a store before….there were also other tenants in the house but they were rescued,” he said without identify the causalities.
