A Pakistani man died after his friend pushed him down while the two joked with each other at their apartment in Saudi Arabia.

Police said they were told by witnesses the two were playing and shoving each other when the victim, in his 30s, fell down and his head banged on the floor.

“The man was rushed to hospital but died later. His friend told police they were joking with each other when the incident happened,” Al Saudeh daily said.

Saudi dies of thirst after car failure in desert

A Saudi man died of thirst after his car broke down and was caught in the desert sand in the Gulf Kingdom, newspapers reported on Tuesday.

Police searching for the man, in his 50s, found him dead nearly 500 metres away from his car in the desert near the northwestern town of Jouf, they said.

“He tried to walk back to call for help but could not make it. We found his body nearly 500 metres away from his car,” police spokesman Brigadier Daman Al Daraan said.

Snake in the airport

A 15-cm snake sneaked into an airport in Saudi Arabia and wandered around freely in the empty terminal before it was killed by an airport worker.

The snake was apparently lured in by the cool and quiet hall when it crept into the airport terminal in the Western Saudi town of Taif just before dawn.

“The snake was seen just before Suhoor (Ramadan dawn meal), when there were no flights and the terminal was empty. It was seen by a cleaner who called an employee and joined hands to kill the snake,” Sabq daily said.
