Palestinian kills niece to hide previous murder

A Palestinian man killed his two-year-old niece in fear she would tell authorities after she saw him committing a murder in his town in Gaza Strip.

The man lured his brother’s daughter Hadeel Abu Suri to an isolated place and strangled her, the Arabic language Saudi magazine Sayyidati said.

Police in Gaza later arrested the uncle, who confessed to strangling the child after she saw him committing a murder earlier.

“He said he decided to kill his niece because he feared she might tell authorities and testify against him about a murder he had perpetrated,” it said without identifying the killer.
