Plane with ministers returns after fight
An Egypt Air passenger plane with three cabinet members on board changed route to Saudi Arabia and returned to Cairo airport after a scuffle between three Saudi passengers and the cabin crew, an Egyptian newspaper reported on Monday.
The aircraft has just taken off and was en route to the Saudi capital Riyadh on Sunday when the three passengers began arguing with the cabin crew.
“The argument developed into a scuffle, forcing the pilot to return to Cairo,” the Egyptian daily 'Alyoum Al Sabei' said, quoting security sources in Cairo.
It said the ministers were Sahar Nasr, minister of international cooperation, Mustafa Madbouli, minister of housing, and Hilali Al Sharbini, minister of education.
The paper said the three Saudi passengers have been detained for questioning.
