Saudi Arabia’s Islamic police arrested a Jordanian who used treatment by the Holy Quran and burning incense as a cover to rape and blackmail women in the Gulf Kingdom, a local newspaper reported on Friday.

Members of the feared Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice raided the man’s apartment in the western Red Sea port of Jeddah following a complaint by a local woman that he raped her, Kabar said.

The unnamed Jordanian, who entered the Kingdom on a business visa, persuaded many women that he can cure their illnesses by reciting verses from the Quran and burning incense, the paper said.

“One woman went to his flat with her young brother, who had to go into the toilet many times as he is suffering from diabetes….the man used her brother’s absence and raped the woman,” it said.

“The Commission members searched his apartment and found obscene photographs of women in his mobile…they also found videos clips in his mobile showing him speaking to alleged jinn (genies).”
