Restaurant shut over 'mouse in pot'
Saudi authorities shut a restaurant after health inspectors making a sudden visit found a mouse in the cooking pot, a newspaper reported on Thursday.
The officials inspecting cooking facilities at the “famous” restaurant discovered the mouse in the empty pot inside the kitchen, Al Saudeh Arabic language daily said.
“They decided to temporarily shut the restaurant and imposed a fine of SR5,000,” it said in a report from the southern town of Sarat Obaidah.
It did not make clear if the mouse was dead or alive when it was found.
