Sailor dies after slipping on ship rope in Saudi

A Chinese sailor died after he slipped on a rope on a ship and fell on his face in a port in Saudi Arabia, a newspaper reported on Sunday.

The sailor, a guide on a Chinese vessel, was preparing for the departure of the ship from the eastern Saudi port of Dammam when he stumbled on the rope and fell on his face, the Arabic language daily 'Sabq' said.

“The sailor suffered fractures and bleeding in his face. He was taken to hospital but died on the way,” the paper said, quoting a port spokesman.
