Saudi Arabia to have first online 'women' daily
A Saudi newspaper said on Tuesday it was launching the Gulf Kingdom’s first online women’s daily covering female achievements in Saudi Arabia, latest developments and other topics related to women.
The Arabic language daily Al Jazirah, one of the largest newspapers in the Gulf, said “Awjonline” would be launched during a women cosmetics exhibition opening in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday.
“It will be Saudi Arabia’s first online newspaper to be dedicated exclusively to women,” Al Jazirah’s chairman Mutlaq bin Abdullah said.
“We inspired the idea of this paper from the dramatic achievements made by Saudi women in the recent period…Awjonline is also intended to be the first newspaper to deal exclusively with women in the Arab world.”
