Saudi cops question girl…thinking she is boy

Saudi police spent nearly two hours questioning a girl, thinking she is a boy before discovering their embarrassing mistake when they phoned her family.

The girl, disguised in male clothes, was arrested along with two young men for misbehavior inside a shopping mall in the western town of Al Hawiya.

After spending two hours interrogating the three, the officer phoned their families and asked them to come and sign them out of the police station.

“The father of one of them told the police by phone that all his sons were at home and the only one who was absent is his 16-year-old daughter,” Almuwatin daily said.

“The officer then had a serious talk with the presumed boy who then admitted she is a girl and that she had cut her hair and wore male clothes to look as a boy.”
