Saudi missing for 6 years appears on YouTube

A mentally-ill Saudi man who went missing nearly six years ago suddenly appeared dancing in a YouTube film, prompting his family to revive efforts to find him.

The 40-year-old man left his house in the western town of Al Lith six years ago and never returned, triggering an extensive search operation by the police and his relatives through the Gulf Kingdom, the largest Arab country.

“Only recently, we were watching a YouTube film showing a bearded man looking ill dancing in front of a shop. We were shocked to see that this man is my son,” his father said, quoted by the Saudi Arabic language daily Sada.

“This film revived our grief about our son and at the same time gave us hope to find him. We appeal for anyone who knows where the film was shot to contact us.”
