Saudi schools to pray for rain

Schools in Saudi Arabia will perform rain prayers on Monday in line with calls by King Abdullah for all people in the Gulf Kingdom to participate, newspapers said.

Minister of education Prince Faisal bin Abdullah bin Mohammed sent a letter to educational zones across the country to instruct their schools to perform rain prayers, the papers said.

“All schools are called upon to perform rain prayers today in line with a call by his majesty the monarch given the country’s need for rain at this period of time.”
