A 27-year-old Saudi woman gave birth to quadruplets in a Cesarean operation at a hospital in the Gulf kingdom after having treatment for fertility.
Doctors said the all the newborns are girls and weighed between 1.26 and 1.72 kg at birth, adding that they were admitted to the intensive care unit just after birth.
“The mother had suffered from fertility for four years before she was treated,” said Dr Maher Khalifa, a consultant at the hospital in the western Saudi city of Makkah.
Quoted by Sabq newspaper, he said the babies were in good condition but needed to be admitted to ICU for intravenous feeding and oxygen.
