Son tries to set mom on fire, flees

A Saudi man poured petrol on his mother and set her on fire but her younger son managed to put out the blaze, a newspaper reported on Wednesday.

The woman was rushed to hospital in the Western town of Taif in a serious condition while her younger son suffered from slight burns while trying to save his mother.

‘Sabq’ daily said police mounted a manhunt to arrest the fleeing son, adding that his motives for the attack have not been known yet.
