Sorcerers with 'magic lamp' caught in Saudi Arabia

Saudi police have seized two African sorcerers who used a lamp with images to create presumed ghosts to mislead victims into believing they can control their lives in a bid to get their money, a local daily said on Tuesday.

The two African men, who resided illegally in the western Red Sea port of Jeddah, had images of horses, dogs and other creatures concealed inside their lamp, which projects them in an enlarged form at the wall in a dim room, the Arabic language newspaper Shams reported.

As the images start to flicker and glitter on the wall amidst dense clouds of smoke, one of the alleged magicians begins uttering ghost-like voices from behind the wall while a tape recorder starts to emit eerie sound effects.

“The two were involved in witchcraft, black art and cheap acts of sorcery…they exploited persons with weak souls,” the paper said.

“They claimed their ability to separate couples, bring them back together, unite lovers and increase money…unfortunately, some persons believed them.”

The paper said police caught the two red-handed at their Jeddah apartment after watching them for several days.
