Syrian Siamese twin girls to be operated on after a decree by King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia were flown into the Gulf Kingdom for the surgery, newspapers reported.

Tuqa and Yaqin, attached at their heads, were admitted to hospital in the capital Riyadh for a check-up before undergoing a surgery to separate them.

King Abdullah has instructed health authorities to bring the twin into Saudi Arabia following an appeal by their father to the Monarch.

Their family lives in the northern Syrian town of Riqa and the father has been unable to take them to hospital for lack of medical equipment in the conflict-battered Arab country.
The father, who has 11 children, appeared in the Saudi daily ‘Sabq’ nearly four months ago to appeal for King Abdullah to treat his twins.
