A 28-year-old Sudanese woman in Saudi Arabia died five days after she gave birth to quadruplets, prompting her husband to appeal for help.
The woman was admitted to hospital in the western Red Sea port of Jeddah in bad condition after she went in labour but doctors managed to save her and the four babies, including three boys and one girl.
“Five days later, she suddenly died, leaving behind four children whom she hardly saw them,” the Arabic language daily Sabq said.
It quoted her husband Mohammed Al Tayyeb as saying he needed financial help to pay nearly SR115,000 (Dh1123,000) to the hospital.
“I can’t afford paying that sum as I work as a waiter at a restaurant and my salary is very low…I also appeal for Saudi authorities to allow me to bring my mother to the Kingdom to look after my children,” he said.
