Umrah-bound family of 6 killed in car crash
Eight people lost their lives in a car accident - six from one family – on their way to Makkah to perform Umrah.
Details of the accidents show that a family of six - man, wife, mother, and his three sisters, decided to perform Umrah in Ramadan.
They were heading to Makkah from the city of Al Ta’aef when their car collided with another car which had two persons on board. All eight people died on the spot.
Initial investigations showed that the accident happened with the driver of the first car suddenly turned from his lane and hit the other car.
A Makkah Red Crescent official said that seven ambulance teams were called in and the eight dead bodies were sent to the King Faisal Hospital in Al Ta’aef.
