US soldier, Indian held in Kuwait for drug dealing

Kuwaiti police have seized a US soldier and an Indian businessman for possessing and dealing in drugs in the oil-rich Gulf emirate, the Kuwaiti Arabic language newspaper 'Alanba' reported on Thursday.

A Kuwaiti who was arrested for trading in narcotics led the police to the Indian, who was arrested during a raid on his house in Kuwaiti City, it said.

Police seized 20 gm of cocaine, drug pills, marijuana and 23 liquor bottles during the raid, the paper said, adding that the Indian confessed that he had bought marijuana from a solider in the US army.

“After getting his address, anti-drug squads raided the American’s house and seized around 70 gm of marijuana…the American confessed that he brings the drugs from the US and supplies the Indian man,” it said.
