Video: Man crushed to death by road roller

A Saudi man was crushed to death by a road roller whose driver was reversing the heavy vehicle without noticing the man was at the back.

A YouTube film showed the man, wearing traditional Saudi wear, has just finished buying sweets from a shop and wanted to cross over to the other side of the road when he was run over by the roller.

'Sada' newspaper, which published the film, said the incident took place in the northwestern Saudi town of Jouf.

It said the man watched the road to ensure there was no traffic coming his way without noticing the roller which was moving in the wrong direction.

“He was crushed to death on the spot in the absence of any traffic policemen to control such erratic behavior by the driver,” it said.
