A Saudi farmer stoned a wolf to death after trapping him in a rope snare for attacking his camels and livestock in nearby farms.
The farmer said he had stalked the wolf for several months before succeeding in capturing him alive in a snare made or ropes and wood just outside his far in Thamama village east of the capital Riyadh.
“I found it in the morning trying to get loose…I kept throwing rocks at it until it died…I then used a big steel bar to hit it on the head to make sure it is dead,” the farmer said, quoted by Sabq Arabic language daily.
The paper said the farmer then hanged the wolf on a wood pole in the area as a “symbol of victory” and to show local residents that the wolf’s threat is over.
