Worker falls into pit; impales himself on iron bars

An Asian construction worker was killed after falling on iron bars installed in a pit at a train project site in the Gulf Kingdom, a newspaper reported on Tuesday.

Sabq quoted police as saying the man died on the spot after his body was pierced by the bars at the site in the western town of Makkah.

Civil defence pulled the body off the bars and sent it to the coroner while police said no criminal act was involved in the incident.
