Father of four impregnates schoolgirl

A 44-year-old father of four has been arrested in Sri Lanka for impregnating a 14-year-old schoolgirl, the ‘Lankadeepa’ newspaper reported.

The man was arrested after a complaint was lodged by the victim’s mother.

Police said when the victim’s mother left home for her job in a private company, the girl stayed at home with her younger sister during day time.

The suspect used to visit the house frequently with toffees and chocolates for the children. The suspect’s workplace was close to the victim’s house.

Police stated there was evidence to show that during December and January, the suspect had raped the victim several times.

The girl has been admitted to hospital.
