Mobile phone picture drives girl to end life

A 17-year-old girl from a Minuwangoda school had committed suicide on Friday, because her teacher and her parents had seen a picture of her with her boyfriend, which was saved on her mobile phone, reports Ceylon Today.

The incident had taken place during the inter-house sports meet of the school, where the teacher had been privy to the picture saved on her phone.

The teacher then confiscated the phone and had asked the girl’s mother to meet her.

The teacher showed the picture to the mother, and had also advised the student against taking such pictures and saving them on the phone.

The girl who was dejected subsequently committed suicide
