Mom, daughter romped in bed with 3 youths

A Sri Lankan woman has been remanded to police custody till January 21 on Tuesday for encouraging a young man to sexually abuse her 14-year-old daughter, the ‘Lankadeepa’ reported.

Police reported to the court that an unknown youth, who had promised to marry the underage girl, had brought two of his friends to the woman’s house where they all together engaged in sex on the same bed for nearly four months.

One of the suspects, a 34-year-old father of three, who is believed to have sexually abused the young girl, had been arrested by the police in Bandaragama town with the aid of the victim who acted as a decoy.
The magistrate sent the girl been sent for medical examination.

Tuition master absconds after raping pupil


A 24-year-old tuition master in Sri Lanka is absconding after allegedly raping an underage girl attending his classes, the ‘Lankadeepa’ has reported.

The 13-year-old victim from Ahangama town was walking to another tuition class after attending the suspect’s class when she was picked up by him who was following her on a motorcycle, telling her that he wanted her to check an answer script.

The tuition master took the girl to a house where he said some of her friends were waiting. After reaching the place, he send out a boy looking after the house and raped her in one of its rooms.

Girl in Italy beaten for adopting European customs


An 18-year-old Sri Lankan girl has been hospitalized in Genoa in Italy after being beaten up by her father for adopting European customs instead of following their native traditions, the ‘Colombo Gazette’ reported.

The paper said doctors at a hospital in San Martino, where she had sought medical treatment, found multiple bruises on her body.

The girl told authorities she had been assaulted many times earlier and she needed protection as she was determined not to return home.

While the Prosecutor’s Office is investigating the case, the girl has been provided accommodation by the social service department.
