Spade on farm comes out of man's stomach

Colombo: In a bizarre and yet unfortunate incident, a Sri Lankan farm worker was rushed to hospital last week, “hooked on a spade”.

According to a report in Mawbima, the farm worker fell over a spade and the handle entered through his rear, piercing out through his stomach.

The 40-year-old worker was immediately rushed to Avissawella Base Hospital and the doctor managed to save his life through an emergency operation.

Currently, he is in the intensive care unit of the hospital.
