Teen kills woman to buy dress for fiancée

Colombo - A 19-year-old boy who wanted to buy a dress for his fiancée killed a woman in order to rob her money and buy the gift his girlfriend wanted.

The boy accidently answered a ‘wrong call’ from the girl and began a conversation with her, until he finally fell in love with her, reports Tamilwin.

The duo had been talking over the phone for couple of month and the girl had asked him to get her a new dress for Ramadan.

He is reported to have followed a rich woman and entered her house to rob. When he was confronted by the woman, he strangled her until she fell unconscious.

He then removed all the gold jewellery from her closet, but the woman regained consciousness.

The woman was about to scream, but the teen then stabbed her repeatedly left the house with the jewellery.

He was later arrested by the Nawalapitiya police. The boy hails from Balanthota, Nawalapitya while his girlfriend hails from Kekirawa.
