Sand storms are likely across the emirate today as strong winds are expected to kick-up dust and sand.

The National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) has warned motorists to drive carefully.

Strong winds have been coming in from Saudi Arabia bringing fine particles of dust and sand. This dust has been suspended in the air and caused a drop in visibility.

The sea will also be very rough with four to eight feet high waves. People and the fishermen have also been asked to stay away from venturing out to the sea. The weather is hazy and partly cloudy to cloudy, at times, all over the emirates.

The south-easterly winds, gusting at a speed of 50km/hr in some areas at time, also forced the cancellation of the media preview of Al Ain Aerobatic Show.
