Suitor rejected for being ‘girlish’

A Saudi man was surprised when he was told by the girl’s father to change his appearance before he could marry his daughter.

“The girl’s father told the suitor that he must change his appearance to a real man so he can marry his daughter…otherwise, he would not agree to the marriage,” Arabic language daily Sada reported from the Southern town of Baha.

It said the girl’s father found that the suitor looked like a girl with “long hair, tight clothes and behaved like one, too.”

“The father found that the suitor was girlish and that he had gone too far in growing his hair. It does not suit men,” it added.
