A fire in an under construction site off Sheikh Zayed Road this morning ewas put out in 40 minutes.
In a press statement, Dubai Civil Defence said there have been no injuries.
"The fire broke out on the roof of a building construction site, off Sheikh Zayed Road. The workers were evacuated to safety," the official informed.
"The fire was reported at 11.33am on Monday. And, was put out at 12.14." He added that it was "not a big fire" and teams from Al Barsha fire station helped douse the fire.
Earlier, commuters reported that black smoke could be seen billowing from what an under-construction building.
Motorists on Sheikh Zayed Road reported slow-moving traffic at the time of the fire. Traffic flow resumed to normal by 12.45pm.

Eyewitness SK told Emirates 24|7 at 12.15pm: “A dark plume of smoke is still visible across Sheikh Zayed Road, originating from a building next to the First Gulf metro station. Traffic is already building up in the area, heading in the direction of Abu Dhabi.”

Civil Defence spokesperson told Emirates24|7 that an “accident occurred around 11am this morning.”
He added that the civil defence team was on the site, working to douse the fire.
