Tribal leaders trying to create 'state of calm'

Published

The Command of the Arab coalition forces in Yemen has announced that Yemeni tribal and social personalities have sought to create a state of calm along the Saudi-Yemeni border to allow the entry of medical and relief materials to Yemeni villages near areas of conflict.

The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) has reported that coalition forces have responded positively to efforts being made at the Olab border point. It also said that Saudi detainee, Corporal Jaber Asa'ad Al Ka'abi, has been returned, and seven Yemeni people arrested in the operations areas near the southern Saudi border were also allowed to return.

The coalition command said it welcomes a continuing state of calm while it carries out 'Operation Restoring Hope', as well as ongoing contributions to reach a political solution in accordance with UN Security Council Resolution No. 2216.
