Two hurt after jumping red lights

Two people were injured when their car slammed into another vehicle after they jumped the red lights in Abu Dhabi, police have said.

The Asian driver and an Arab woman suffered from medium injuries and were taken to hospital after their car hit a four-wheel vehicle at the traffic signal intersection on Murur road just outside the town centre, police said, quoted by the semi official daily Al Ittihad.

“We urge all drivers to slow down ahead of the traffic signal and not to speed up to catch up with the green light as this could lead to dangerous accidents,” a police officer said without identifying the victims.
