Video: Rain, storms hit Sharjah, UAQ

Rain and thunderstorms were experienced across the UAE, with parts of Sharjah and Umm Al Quwain in particular reporting heavy showers.

One video, taken by an Emirati, showed lightning hitting a palm tree in the Al Dhaid district of Sharjah, offering a spectacular and scary view.

Videos also showed the rain in UAQ as residents enjoyed the respite from the heat that is yet to fully abate.
