Woman sets man on fire in Malaysia

Investigation was underway to determine the cause of the blaze (File)

An Indonesian woman confronted a Bangladeshi construction worker at his work site in Bukit Mertajam, Penang yesterday morning (Feb 4).

In his 30s, the worker was riding a motorbike with his compatriot when he was attacked.

According to Seberang Perai Tengah, Police Chief ACP Rusli Mohd Noor, the women poured inflammatory substance on him which could be petrol.

She then lit a piece of cloth and threw it in the direction of the two men.

The Star Online reported that the incident happened at about 7.50am.

While the friend managed to flee from the scene, the Bangladeshi worked was engulfed in fire.

According to ACP Rusli, witnesses at the scene rushed to his aid.

The crowd managed to nab the woman and handed her over to the police.

The victim was then rushed to the Bukit Mertajam Hospital where he is currently in a stable condition.
