Google has joined hands with cricket crazy fans in India and Pakistan to celebrate the start of the ICC World T20 cricket tournament.

India plays New Zealand in the first match of the tournament today.

Google deployed has two different variants of its Doodle on its homepage in India and Pakistan.

While Google’s homepage in India sports a blue bat in sync with the team's official attire, in Pakistan, the bat turns green.

Clicking on the doodle takes you to a quick preview of the previous matches and the latest update of the day's play with live scores.

You even get to watch a video recap of the previous match from the ICC's YouTube page.

Ten nations including Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, West Indies, South Africa, England, New Zealand and Australia are participating in the 16-day tournament.

Google's homepage in other participating countries including Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, where fans are as crazy as those in India and Pakistan are however remains blank.

This is not the first time Google is celebrating the game of cricket with a doodle.

The first cricket related doodle was posted in March 2007 on the occasion of that year's World Cup. It also posted doodles in 2011 for the World Cup and followed it with doodles on the occasion of T20 World Cup in 2014 and ICC World Cup in 2015.
