Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince and Chairman of Dubai Sports Council, has issued directives to organise two of the world's richest Olympic-level shooting competitions under the umbrella of the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF).
The two championships are the Mohammed bin Rashid Shooting Championship and the Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Shooting Championship. Both championships are set to kick off by 2015.
Sheikh Hamdan's directives to organise both championships come in line with his unlimited support for youth and talents and to revive traditional sports. Sheikh Hamdan ordered the formation of higher organising committee under the chairmanship of Sheikh Juma bin Dalmouk Al Maktoum, head of the Fazza Shooting team. The committee will supervise the organisation of the championships in a fashion that reflects the civilized cultural aspects of the United Arab Emirates and promotes Dubai as the capital of sports in the Middle East.
Sheikh Juma bin Dalmouk Al Maktoum thanked Sheikh Hamdan for his generous gesture and unlimited support for sports in general and shooting in particular. Sheikh Juma asserted that both championships will attract the elites from the Arab world, Asia and entire world.
The higher committee will gather soon to start preparations for the international event.
